Meet Bella
Welcome
Living with a host family in Australia taught me that the best way to understand a culture is to sit at someone's dinner table. That's why I host. Come hungry; my cat may peek at you, decide you're fine, and go back to sleep.
About me
I grew up in Northeast China and studied English at university. I worked as a translator between Chinese businesses and African delegates, did a master's in Hong Kong, and now teach Chinese metaphysics full-time in Shanghai.
Languages
I speak Mandarin and English. I studied English at university, so conversation in English has never been a problem.
Outside the kitchen
I teach Ba Zi, Zi Wei Dou Shu and Feng Shui, and I love Tarot, travelling, meeting new people and good food. Ask me for my Xuhui walking route of lane houses, quiet cafes and tiny wine bars.
Travel experience
I lived with a host family in Australia for a few months and joined their barbecues and weekends. I also spent two years in Hong Kong for my master's, talking with people from completely different backgrounds.
