Share a home-cooked Cantonese and Northeastern meal
Enjoy Cantonese seafood and claypot rice from Lion, and bold Northeastern stews from his wife. Vegetarian, no-pork, no-beef, halal-friendly swaps and allergies are covered with advance notice.
Stay for the conversation
After the meal, the table is cleared for a board game from their full wall of them, and the sugar gliders might say hello from the sunroom. Most visits last about two hours. Expect ~2-3 hours at the table.

Home cooking participation
Kitchen is ours to run — we don't recommend guests cook for the group — but we love co-creating: you're very welcome to step in, plate, garnish, tweak a recipe together, or learn a technique. Relax and watch, or roll up your sleeves — your call.

Welcome
Step into our Futian loft: lush plants, warm earthy tones, a slow tropical pace. I cook Cantonese seafood and claypot rice, my wife brings bold Northeastern stews, and after dinner we pull out a board game.
About me
I'm Li, but call me Lion. I'm CTO and co-founder of a travel startup designing China itineraries for international visitors. My wife is from China's Northeast, I'm Cantonese, and our kitchen mixes North and South.
Languages
We speak Mandarin, Cantonese and English.
Outside the kitchen
We have a full wall of board games, and our sugar gliders live in the sunroom. When I'm free, I go backpacking.
Travel experience
I've backpacked across Chile, Peru, Turkey, Germany, France, Spain, a dozen-plus other European countries, Australia and New Zealand. Five continents down; Antarctica's the only one left.
